David Paterson - Managing Director
David has over 30 years experience in the steel engineering business and within that time has gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise in a wide range of fields in this industry.
Included in his experience is work in the following:
- Rural agricultural - repairing farm machinery
- Working in a stainless steel workshop building a range of products, including kitchen counters and food processing equipment.
- Contracting - Throughout New Zealand to work on a range of new build and maintenance projects, including dairy factories, wineries and a brewery. For example installation of pipework, sheet metal products and large ducting.
David set up his own workshop in 2014 to enable him to manufacture stainless steel and Corten products for his growing base of clients. Doing this has also enabled him to utilise his designing and problem solving skills.

We have been working with David Paterson for a number of years now. We first contacted him to build some very large Corten steel planters for our beach house. He did a fabulous job.
After conversations with David we realised he was very skilled in many areas of metal work.
David made bespoke brass front doors for us which are 3.4 metres high. They are truly spectacular.
He also manufactured all our door handles, including some which replicated the shape of the cedar battens on the outside of the house.
We were so impressed with both his capabilities and workmanship that we asked him to make our very special pool fencing, which also references the exterior of the house. Please refer to the photos.
David also made the vanity carcasses for the guest bathrooms.
Friends were so impressed that they have also used him for many architectural details in their home.
